ElevenX Plugins (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our Services, including the ElevenX Image Alt Manager WordPress plugin (“Plugin”), the alt-text-checker-proxy.elevenx.workers.dev proxy service used by the Pro version (“Proxy Service”), and the elevenxplugins.com website (“Website”).
Free vs Pro — how AI alt-text is processed. The Plugin is offered in a free edition and a paid Pro edition, and the two handle AI processing differently:
- Free edition (bring-your-own-key): You provide your own OpenAI API key in the Plugin settings. When you generate alt text, your WordPress site sends the image directly to OpenAI using your key. This data does not pass through the Proxy Service or any elevenX server, and we do not receive, see, or store it.
- Pro edition: AI requests are routed through our Proxy Service, which forwards the image to OpenAI on your behalf. The sections below describing the Proxy Service apply to the Pro edition only.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 WordPress Plugin
The Plugin operates locally on your WordPress site. Plugin settings and preferences are stored in your own WordPress database. We do not collect any data from your WordPress site passively.
1.2 Proxy Service — Pro edition only (AI Alt-Text Generation)
This section applies to the Pro edition only. The free edition does not use the Proxy Service; its AI requests go directly from your site to OpenAI using your own API key, and none of that data reaches us.
When you use AI alt-text generation in the Pro edition, your WordPress site sends the following to our Proxy Service:

In the free edition, none of the above is sent to us. Image data goes only to OpenAI, governed by OpenAI’s Privacy Policy, under your own OpenAI account and API key.
1.3 Website (elevenxplugins.com)
When you visit our website, we may collect:
- Standard server log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, timestamps
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, and message content
- Purchase information: email address, license type, and transaction details (payment card data is handled by our payment processor, not by us)
2. How We Use Your Data
Proxy Service data is used solely to:
- Generate alt-text descriptions via AI
- Validate Pro license keys
- Detect and prevent abuse of the Proxy Service
Website data is used to:
- Respond to your support and sales inquiries
- Process and fulfill license purchases
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Services
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
3. Data Retention

4. Third-Party Sharing
OpenAI, LLC: In the Pro edition, image data transmitted to the Proxy Service is forwarded to OpenAI for AI processing and alt-text generation. In the free edition, image data is sent to OpenAI directly from your WordPress site using your own OpenAI API key — it does not pass through us. In both cases OpenAI processes the data as a subprocessor. We do not share personally identifiable information (such as your name or email) with OpenAI as part of this process. OpenAI’s privacy practices are governed by OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
Payment Processors: Purchase transactions are handled by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe or Paddle). We do not receive or store your payment card details. Their use of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and Tracking
Website: elevenxplugins.com may use essential session cookies to maintain website functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not currently use analytics platforms that track individual users across websites.
Plugin: The Plugin does not set any cookies on your WordPress site or on your visitors’ browsers.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect data in transit to and from the Proxy Service, including HTTPS/TLS encryption. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any data.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Portability: Receive your personal data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your personal information.

Important note on image data: Because image data transmitted to the Proxy Service is processed in-transit and is not stored, we are unable to retrieve, return, or delete it after processing is complete.
9. International Data Transfers
The Proxy Service (used by the Pro edition only) runs on Cloudflare’s global edge network. In the Pro edition, image data may be processed in data centers located outside your country of residence. By using Pro AI alt-text generation, you consent to this transfer and processing. In the free edition, image data is sent directly to OpenAI under your own API key and does not traverse the Proxy Service.
OpenAI is headquartered in the United States. Data processed by OpenAI may be subject to US law, including lawful government access. For users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, this transfer occurs under applicable cross-border transfer mechanisms.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
